Totally off subject....but I wasn't sure where to ask this. Does anyone have experience with the helmets used on infants with flat head syndrome aka plagiosephaely (sp)?? Our pediatrician suggested we go see a pediatric neurologist for this, only one of my twins so far. I am looking for any info I can find, so If you've had experience with this...come on over and leave me a comment and I'll swing by your blog to read about it. THANKS!

Thanks for the props, Liz. And I, too, tried to get out as often as possible, but I was always found and brought back home. Damn ankle bracelet.

You did a great job with this post Liz.

I really enjoy being a SAHM, but some days really suck. And I really enjoyed working outside of the home, but some of those days really sucked too! (Like the day I had to do cpr on a woman who had already died. Definitely a bad day). The thing is, I always felt like it was okay to complain a little bit about my other job, and I don't want to sound ungrateful or unloving by complaining about my own flesh and blood!

Put it this way, as blessed as I am to be the mom of F and J, I have thought on occassion "There is a reason why some species eat their young!"

We also do playdates with one other family at a time--they come over to our house or we go to theirs or we meet up somewhere. It's less crazy than a big group, our kids get to know each other, and we get to talk a teeny, tiny bit in the midst of the kid chaos. Bringing others into your house gives you a break from packing up the car; don't pick up toys ahead of time because they'll all be out again 10 minutes after the guests arrive. Very helpful when it's rainy/cold/beastly hot outside.

Ah, "crazytown". I know it well. Staying home seems like this idyllic time---play with babies all day, snuggle them, read to them---what could be better, right? And true, I wouldn't trade it for the world but it is HARD. Hard hard hard. There are no weekends, no evenings without work. And two babies can be much more demanding than any coworkers or clients I've ever had.

I second Liz---get out of the house! Take a class with the kids, to to storytime at the library, go to the local bookstore, go grocery shopping, go to the park and play on the swings, hit the Dunkin' Donut's drivethru (I'm from MA, so this is a necessary part of any day). It helps.

Very well put. I agree, GET OUT!!! My husband and I have a date night at least twice a month. I go to play groups every week. The rain has not stopped here (Canada) for 5 days so this week we went to McDonalds for inside play. Hang in there and know that even a walk outside will do the cabin fever trick.

Great info, I don't get out nearly enough I guess I should start! I am way to much of a home body I guess as it doesn't bother me, but I suppose it would be better for the kids!

I know a stay at home dad of twins and he is frustrated by the fact that he is male in what is mainly a gals world. It must be very frustrating.
