Good luck with the surgery. We had a rather chaotic Thanksgiving, with random meal times, late bedtimes, and all kinds of chaos, but we (mostly) went with the flow, and we're all still here and relatively sane.

We'll be thinking of you! Best wishes on the surgery and travel.

Even the most laid back MOMs have the control freak thing going. I think it's part of our survival. In order to handle everything we do, to be organized and keep things moving, we gotta be in control. And there's just no time to explain the whys of how we do things. (It's something I still need to work on with my husband, and keep reminding myself he is not my employee.)

But I'm sure your mom will be wonderful, even if she does things differently. Hope you can really rest and recover!

Oh I can not wait to hear how it goes. I'm in the process of writing up some stuff about our trip where we threw routine completely out the window and we loved it. It is so liberating to know that we can be so far outside our comfort zone (Alex calling the front desk and talking to them!) but still have such a great time.

Good luck with the surgery!
