Love the ear-holding picture! So funny!

I wish that my kids liked smoothies! I have tried to get them to like yogurt in many forms, but it hasn't worked. I don't get it. They loved it when they were little and now won't go near the stuff even though they see me eat it every day.

As far as addictions go - not bad!

We love smoothies. I have a boy that doesn't eat breakfast, but will drink smoothies. So on preschool mornings we do lots of smoothies to make sure he makes it to snack time without meltdowns. I actually like to add vanilla slim fast for the vitamins and fiber. One of my favorite calorie packed smoothies is Vanilla slim fast, avocados, bananas and milk.

Here's my most recent smoothie post:
http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/solidfoodadventures/?p=123

They are a big hit with our older son, but I haven't tried them for the little girls yet. I'll definitely keep smoothies in mind for a snack soon.

Sounds delicious! We haven't done smoothies in a while. Might be time to break out the blender again. :o)

P.S. For those working on teaching kids to drink from an open cup, our nutritionist recommended starting with a smoothie (medium thickness) instead of water, juice, or milk because it won't rush onto their faces when they tip the cup back the way the other liquids will. Then you can gradually make the smoothie thinner and eventually introduce those other liquids in an open cup. (Milkshakes would work too, but not as healthy.)

My 18 mo old girls LOVE smoothies too. They LOVE anything about the blender and count with me when I turn it on..."ONE...twooooo....three!" [they really only say "two" with me at this point...too cute]. They've been watching me make them for myself since birth and now enjoy them with me. I love using frozen yogurt in them.

Love the comment about adding fresh spinach -- I'll have to try that!

My 5 y/o LOVES smoothies and we just gave them to our twin 1.5 y/os and they LOVE them too. I like that they are healthy treats and a nice change for breakfast. And so easy to make to boot!
