I have not run my washing machine as often, nor kept a bucket of Biz and Oxy on the bathroom counter as frequently, since the newborn days of both twins having acid reflux. But at least I get more sleep now? That is all.

Same <--> Different: A Constant Pull
August 27th, 2010 by jenna · 3 Comments
Just as we are working to affirm and encourage individuality in our daughters, they seem committed to being more definite about being treated the same. For example, if one is wearing a sweater to go outside, the other one wants her sweater too. If one is wearing her brother’s shoes or bike helmet, the other [...]
A Pivotal Twenty Sixth Month
August 4th, 2010 by Rachel · 9 Comments
So I’ve been writing this series of posts (on my blog) about how we’ve been blurring the lines of our formerly iron-clad (at the demand of the twin’s, not us!) routine. Things like pushing back bedtime, and going to the zoo when they’d typically be going down for a nap, and taking a day trip [...]

Twin connections
July 23rd, 2010 by jenna · 7 Comments
Our identical twin girls are now 18 months old, and they have just recently started to show signs of the special twin connection or bond everyone talks so much about. Most of the time they are either doing their own things or competing for attention. But, every now and then they’ll show that they are [...]

Making Food Healthy and Fun!
July 12th, 2010 by amy · 7 Comments
I’m super lucky that my twins are far from picky eaters, but they are still toddlers and therefore have opinions- strong ones, so I’m always trying to get creative to make food healthy and fun. I recently read an article on CNN.com titled, “10 Nutrition Powerhouses for Kids”. You should too! I found it so [...]

My Child, The Starfish
July 7th, 2010 by Rachel · 8 Comments
So the twins are almost 27 months now and we’ve been in a phase of NoMommyIDoItMyself for several months now. That, we’ve got down. It’s the new-within-the-last six weeks Starfish Syndrome that is new for us. Our most independent, most spirited twin has taken to wanting ME to do EVERYTHING when an adult is needed. [...]
Weaning on two (or three!) different timelines
June 25th, 2010 by jenna · 9 Comments
For a number of reasons including my sore back, my schoolwork demands, and our childcare schedule, I’m getting more proactive about weaning. (And, I think I read heard imagined that toddlers stop breastfeeding and start walking about the same time. Since our girls are almost 18 months old and still not walking, maybe this will [...]

Give Us Any Chance, We’ll Take It
June 24th, 2010 by reanbean · 8 Comments
It seems that my two-year-olds have decided to live by the lyrics from the old Laverne & Shirley theme song. Give them any chance, they’ll take it. Give them any rule, they’ll break it. Thankfully it’s not (yet) all day everyday, but there are moments when I’d swear I was in the presence of wild [...]

A slow farewell
June 21st, 2010 by Goddess in Progress · 12 Comments
Oh, my friends, it is truly a sad day in my house. I have come to acknowledge a painful fact. The nap is on its way out. *sob* OK, it’s not gone yet. And, to be more specific, it’s my son who seems to be getting ready to drop it. Over the last few weeks, [...]

Older siblings and new babies
June 14th, 2010 by jenna · 14 Comments
I have been asked to submit a story for a booklet produced by our local twins and triplets club. They suggested I contribute something about having a toddler while pregnant with twins and while caring for newborn twins. Here are some of the strategies we used to get our son prepared for the new babies. [...]
